Welcome to my Blog about fitness, workouts, diet and about my personal fitness journey
We all have different style for everything in life, different values, different goals, but we all do have something in common. We all want to be healthy & happy.
Being a mum for 3.5 years thought me many things. Some of them are:
* I am not a super human and I don't have super powers!
* 24/7 care is extremely exhausting
* Sleep deprivation leaves your soul on that pillow and you can become dangerous to your other half!
* I never thought I will become walking zombi
* We can survive without food
* Errrr can't remember when I washed face the last time
* You don't realise how you actually look as you haven't seen yourself in the mirror for years UNTIL someone tags the latest photo of you on social media (hmmmm!!)
Motherhood is a job! It is a really exhausting job WHICH MEN would NEVER UNDERSTAND, but we should remind them what motherhood also involves: you can clean 28 hours a day and house still looks like a tip, we can cook 20 meals and our children still won't eat any, we need 5 washing machines and 5 tumble driers to deal with all that clean clothes demand! I feel like if we would just be mothers to our kids that would be THE EASIEST JOB in the WORLD! Imagine if we could just play with kids, read them stories, run around soft play areas, teach them how to do puzzles and that we wouldn't have to do all that dirty stuff to deal with, mums would be the happiest!
In all that million task job, we have no time for ourselves. I know many mums are scared to ask for some time to be on their own, because they don't earn money and they don't have a "proper job" or they feel like they don't deserve it. But the importance of "me time" will give you a perception of how important your role is not just in your child's and partners life, but also you will have time to see what your values are and that you can still be true to yourself and to your dreams.
I need a "me time" to switch off, to recharge, to think, so I am able to give the best of myself to my children and my husband. I know kids will go one day to explore life. They will search for their love, their passion and for me is important to be the example how much is important to care about yourself. To show them how important is to feel comfortable in their own skin, to feel peaceful even when chaos is around and how to cope when life is not gentle. And you can do all that when you learn how much "me time" is important.
"Me time" means to me to have my own silence to repair my soul from all that motherhood chaos so I can have more energy for kids when is our together time - all day long! I need time to spend walking around shops just because I love to wonder around. I want to waste my hour to look pretty dresses, shoes, bags, just because my eyes feel happy. I need to spend time drinking coffee with friends because we can talk about gossip without having screaming kids who are more then happy to kick my precious coffee all over me!! I need to have that hour for myself to dry my hair and to feel pretty as I used to so I can feel more attractive to my hubby. I need that minute to remind myself who I am, what makes me happy, time to just be quiet and to hear my heartbeat. I want to have that hour to waste of doing just NOTHING. That "me minute", "me hour" means much more then any free time I had before. I can be reminded that I can be respected by respecting my own life, by giving a value to the most undervalued job to be a full time mum.
Respect yourself more and remember the impact of few hours to spend on your own a week is much more powerful then exhausting yourself beyond belief day after day, year by year.
You need you!
Now take that "me time" and enjoy.
