Welcome to my Blog about fitness, workouts, diet and about my personal fitness journey
We all have different style for everything in life, different values, different goals, but we all do have something in common. We all want to be healthy & happy.
Every woman is different yet it seems we all put ourselves under a similar amount of pressure to lose any weight put on during pregnancy. We believe it when someone tells us we can eat whatever we like if we're breast feeding, we don't notice the extra snacks we grab when we are tired and in a hurry and we might just be too knackered to face doing some exercise... All of these things make it harder to lose the weight.
Let's look at the facts...
A survey of 7000 mums by Baby Centre found that 61% of new mums wanted to be back to their pre-pregnancy weight by their babys first birthday however when asking mums of 1-2 year olds 60% of them still had a few pounds to lose.
So how many mums really snap back to their pre-pregnancy weight?
According to the survey just 20% of those asked had lost the baby weight in the first three months after giving birth.
Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves?
Is it because of the pictures of celebrities who snap back straight away (and also have access to hours and hours of personal Training and a nanny!) that are all over the internet? Or is it because we fear never getting back to the way we looked before? Or perhaps it is because we feel uncomfortable in our 'new' skin?
Whatever it is that makes us believe we should lose the baby weight as soon as possible, the fact is that we may never get back the body we had before - it is quite possible that with some hard work we could end up in even better shape - but it is more likely that we'll either be a different shape entirely and, as 87% of those asked stated, the most unlikely part of our bodies to return to 'normal' will be our tummies.
If you're not happy with your post baby body try to remember that your body has done an amazing thing - producing a brand new human! It has fed, grown and nurtured and then given birth to a baby!

I reached my goal. I am back to my pre pregnancy shape. And I cannot wait to share with you how I did that!!
After both of my pregnancies my body was completely changed. I had to do a lot of work, discipline and determination to get where I am today. But what the most important thing is I STRUGGLED 2nd time round SO MUCH, that I cannot belive that I missed one big thing in the process of getting my body back. I have tried to stick to the food plan, I've done 4-5 times really high intense workouts and I reached the point where my body just wasn't responding on anything I did to shift my last bulk of body fat. I've got so frustrated that I could cry! I kept asking myself, what am I doing wrong? Do I need to completely give up my coffee, do I need to cut out completely certain types of food, what the hell on Earth am I doing wrong? I spoke with few people and they kept asking me the same questions I've been asking myself. But nothing seemed to get improved.
Until we went on holiday and we started walking miles. I've seen people counting steps and sticking to a certain number. So I decided to try and see how much I did. You know you have an app on the iPhone (white app with heart in it) and I backtracked to March when I bought my phone and I've seen that my average was 1.000 steps a day!!!! 1.000!!!!!!!! 🙀 How I did that? Well, my kids are very lively in the pram, normally fighting and hitting each other, so I couldn't be bothered with that and I went EVERYWHERE with a car.
So I decided to improve and to start moving more. Walking more. I have been doing the same food, the same type of workouts, but I also added more cardio - 20-30 min running 2x3 times a week. I walk on average 12.000 steps a day (I've got fitbit to track my every single step), but with aim 10.000 steps daily. And after 5 weeks I'm done. I reached my goal! I feel amazing! Kids and I are sometimes going twice to town to the park or some other playgroups. I look where we could go next, instead of having a car with me. Sometimes if I have PT sessions with clients, I'd rather walk to the gym then to sit and drive. I cannot tell you what a difference it makes!! You just have to try it! You have few apps to download to follow your steps (pedometer, moves, stepz) or you can buy a cheap pedometer of amazon.
This is what my body looks now. I am happy. Content and now I can focus on getting the definition and to improve my body shape. I will take it as a lifelong fitness journey, rather then have a target to have very strict few weeks or months. So my goals are:
1. 2-3 times a week 5k running
2. Weight training with focusing to lean the muscles 3-4 times a week
3. At least 10 min per session doing core strenghtening
4. 10.000 steps per day
5. Eat healthy, have balance and find control of having the minimum of junk food, take aways, sugar, cakes and biscuits
6. Drink 2 litres of water a day
7. Go to bed by 9pm
These are my goals for the lifetime. It is my daily routine anyway, some things have to be encouraged more and I have to work more of getting habits established (especially water intake!!).
Please do me a favour! Start being more active. Focus on your health and fitness. Confidence is something that is SO IMPORTANT. Self awareness and your own happiness with your image in the mirror has such an effect, not just on your life, but on the life of your partner, your family and friends. Everything requires work. You have to work on it. Change things around. Focus on trial and error and just to NEVER GIVE UP. There is always something that triggers your confidence. But don't let stagnation feel you disheartened. You have to find what works for you and your body.
Please join my FREE November walking challenge where we will post daily our 10.000 steps targets and I promise you will realise how much you need to move more :)
Wishing you a successful, healthy and active day!
I hope you are not reading this blog with intention to learn something about fitness, as I am seriously unable to get my brain cells to write about fitness, nutrition and health in general. I am officially on the other Planet!
But if you would like to know more about how women can get crazy, having ups and downs during the pregnancy, then you can stay and read more :)
Just wanted to share with you what happened to me today. It was such a typical hormonal morning. I usually wake up around 6-7am as I can't sleep any longer, so I woke up and saw sunshine. I went downstairs and started doing random women things - put clothes in washing machine, clear the mess as the new day starts, made breakfast and had big plans for today. Like washing the car (I absolutely love to do my car wash when it's sunny!!), writing emails, workouts, go to buggy bootcamp, as I started to attend when I was 25 weeks pregnant, and to get prepared for tonight's sessions. It was all perfectly planned, until I have decided just to go and throw some bottles to the local Tesco store. I had hands full of bags with bottles (quite heavy) and I had my phone and car keys. I closed the door and came to open the car and I couldn't find the keys. Where are my keys, it started banging in my head???? No! I took the keys!! Than I started to search everywhere and I couldn't find my keys! OMG!!!!! Then I realised that I've locked myself outside of the house for the first time since we are in our house!! For the first time!!!! I wanted to shoot myself!! I didn't know how to get in to the house! I went on the back of the house, climbed over the fence to open MASSIVE gate, got very uncomfortable on the top of that gate! I was puffing and hanging and it took me 10 min to open it!! I was just thinking how stupid I was and how I could forget those keys... I found ladders on the back of the house and I climbed on the top of the toilette roof as I left back window open for some fresh air to come in the house. I tried to get into the house, but my belly got stuck and I couldn't move any further. Oh how desperate I felt!! The sun was shining so much that I felt hot and I hoped to be somewhere else, for example on the beach chilling not being stuck on the toilette roof to get into that house! Anyway, I phoned hubby to calm me down. Than I started sobbing like a baby as I felt so scared to come off the roof! I was stuck there for 20 min with no intention to come off till someone comes and gets me down! I NEEDED SOMEONE TO SAVE ME!!! Hahahaha how ridiculous! I calmed down and went off the roof, just like I climbed. I was dirty, in clothes I washed the car and I had to walk through town to get spare keys of our friend. IF YOU SAW ME TODAY IN TOWN, PLEASE DELETE THIS IMAGE IMMEDIATELY! :D (I was in such a state! hahaha)
I entered the house was it hour and a half later?! I felt knackered (still not sure if this is rude word of not. Apologies if it is :D), hungry and extremely exhausted. So I went to sleep and woke up refreshed to continue the day. Jeezz, these hormones are really making me a complete mess!!!
I hope I will get some thoughts sorted soon to write a proper blog :/
Till then stay happy and healthy!
I know it's been a long time since I've been active on my website and facebook, but there was a very good reason for it. I was feeling very, very unwell since October and finally in the last couple of weeks I started to feel human again. Before shout it loud just would like to say that I wanted to keep this little secret for my near friends and family, but I guess I can't do it as it is so much to share.
