We all have different style for everything in life, different values, different goals, but we all do have something in common. We all want to be healthy & happy.
Cravings can come anytime during the day, in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evenings. Having cravings and giving in and snacking the first thing that is in our reach, can massively impact our goal, especially if we've been working hard to trim our body.
Cravings normally come when we slow down and we are the most vulnerable to make wrong choices. Read further and see how you can overcome those tricky moments and how to make a good choices that won't take you one step back on working on your goal!
1. FIRST MORNING CRAVINGS OVERCOME WITH A GOOD BREAKFAST!
Some people make mistakes already with the first meal in the day. Normally they have cereals, toast, croissants, pancakes, fruit, fruit juices etc. These foods are high in sugar and simple carbohydrates.
The negative side effects of this type of breakfast is fast increase in insulin after consumption and very shortly afterwards has a big dip of insulin in your blood. All of that our body recognises as lack of energy and the first feel of hunger kicks in. Straight afterwards you will make a fast trip to the first vending machine or a shop to get yourself snacks that will satisfy your needs of hunger and they are normally chocolates, crisps, lucozade, coke just to give you that quick fix.
How you would avoid fast trips to the shops I would recommend: the first thing in the morning have high protein breakfast, with combination of good healthy fats and with smaller amount of carbohydrates. You will have much more energy, you will feel fuller for longer, your concentration will be better and the most important your insulin will be stable.

2. AFTERNOON CRAVINGS OVERCOME WITH NUTS!
Next cravings we have around late afternoon. Very often we have a big lunch that we eat quickly and we think we can carry on for next 6-7 hours without food. Few hours after lunch the hunger is back!! You know the feeling. Just before you make your way home around 4-5pm. Normally when you make your way home, you might pop in to the shop or petrol station on the way home and you could eat ANYTHING that is on your sight! If you haven't eaten for hours, your body will need that extra food to give you the energy until dinner.
You will be able to overcome this afternoon cravings by adding a little snack because you still need to carry on till dinner time. The great option is nuts. They are available everywhere, you can have them in the bag with you, or in the car if you are driving back home. Nuts are full of protein, fibers and healthy fats. You can have a small handful. Don't forget to not over eat nuts, because they are very high in calories. Just have a little portion.
